About Lake Animal Hospital

Your Pet + Our Team = One Goal

Over the past 40 years, Lake Animal Hospital grew from a small, one-doctor country practice to a large, five-doctor, full-service hospital. The practice was founded in 1977 by Dr. Dennis Brewer, who worked out of his home in Bald Eagle Lake. The first clinic had two exam rooms—remembered fondly for their “Cat” and “Dog” labeled doors.

Gradually, the practice grew from one doctor to three. In 2008, Dr. Amy Phillips purchased the practice, and it continued to grow over the next decade, leading to the creation of a large, new, state-of-the-art facility in 2018.

Lake Animal Hospital’s team continues to grow and evolve, but our commitment to serving you and your pets remains unchanged.

Our Team

At Lake Animal Hospital, we work hard to create an environment filled with hope and healing for you and your pet. Our veterinarians and VetCare team build long-term partnerships with pet owners through sincere communication and trust. By providing education and support, we empower you to play an active and integral part in your pet’s care.

We believe the relationship between people and animals positively influences the health and well-being of both. We feel fortunate to celebrate and support the human-animal bond with our patients and clients.

Our Medicine

Our goal is to help pets live longer, happier, and healthier lives. Our veterinary services are current and comprehensive, designed to support every healthcare need that arises for your pets throughout their lifetime.

We provide a full spectrum of services, including routine preventive care, advanced diagnostics, surgical services, and life-saving treatments. We also partner closely with local specialists and referral hospitals for pets that need advanced care.

Our Accreditation

We are an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited clinic, and our team has made a commitment to adhere to the highest standards of veterinary care.

Unlike human hospitals, accreditation is voluntary for veterinary hospitals, so standards may vary widely between clinics. AAHA accreditation is the only professional benchmark that demonstrates the quality of veterinary care provided. Only the top 15% of veterinary practices achieve AAHA certification. We are proud to maintain this high standard for our clients and their pets.
